Since every decision you make from the Sky Island tutorial is likely to influence your game in the future, it is all the more necessary to setup properly. In this guide, we will show you how to go about within the Sky Island tutorial and what to do after you get back to the surface.
Do Note – The following tips and tricks may contain a few spoilers for Zelda TOTK. Go ahead if you are okay with those.
What to Do First in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (Early Game)
While it is not a hard and fast rule, these early game tips will set you up nicely in the world of Zelda TOTK. If BOTW is any proof, then players would know that the Legend of Zelda needs a good setup right from the start. While playing Zelda Tears of the Kingdom ourselves, there were a few things that we had to do first and hopefully, these beginner’s tips will be useful for you as well.
Get Archaic Warm Greaves
For protection against the cold, this piece of gear is available on the Greater Sky Island and players can grab it quite early in the game. Around the Gutanbac Shrine, players will find a hollow tree where they can get Archaic Warm Greaves in TOTK.
Collect Zonai Devices
Zonai devices are without a doubt one of the most important parts of the early game and the later phases. Luckily, you can start stockpiling them right from the Greater Sky Island part of the game. It will require a high amount of Zonai charge for you to use these devices but they will be worth it.
Go to Hyrule Castle
Once back on the surface, Hyrule Castle is one of the necessary places that beginners should go first in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. The ruins of Hyrule Castle will have numerous early-game weapons and armor available. If you access the locked locations through other means, you can even collect a 4-Star armor there.
Unlock Paraglider
The paraglider unlocks after you complete a certain objective in Hyrule Castle. Since it makes traveling through the world easier, this is certainly an important part of the beginner’s tips for Zelda TOTK.
Check out the Wells
There are numerous wells around Hyrule that can be accessed by players. Without spoiling anything, there are a lot of activities for players to complete in the wells.
Unlock Horses
Since the map of Zelda is a huge one, traversing through it on foot is difficult. If you have unlocked the paraglider by now, you will have some advantages. The rest of it will be done once you get horses in the game.
Investigate the Depths
Shortly after you get the Paraglider, you will find out about the Depths from Robbie. You will need the Brightbloom Seeds while you are here so make sure you know how to get them. Once again, we won’t be spoiling anything except mentioning that these are rewarding objectives. As a beginner, the depths are one of the early game things that players should do first in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Defeat Monsters
While you are in Hyrule, you will be able to spot the Monster Control Crew ready to take on certain monster camps, helping them to do so will prove to be quite rewarding. If you find such an opportunity anywhere on the map, make sure you take it.
Find Armor
There are numerous armors of different levels available in Zelda TOTK and as you explore, you need to start finding them as early as possible. As a beginner, you will be set up nicely for the later stages of the game.
Unlock Abilities
There are many in-game abilities like Recall that can be unlocked during the Sky Island phase itself. As a beginner, this is one of the things that you must do first in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
That’s all we have from this Beginners Guide for Zelda TOTK. As you look to progress further, you would benefit from knowing how to get Climbing Gear, Unlock Fuse. Since you are playing Tears of the Kingdom, our dedicated section will have more useful guides for you right here at Gamer Tweak.
