Minecraft has plenty of different mobs that wander around its vast open world. Some mobs are friendly whereas others are dangerous enough to kill you. These mobs spawn or appear according to their rarity. While some mobs can be found frequently around the open world, some mobs are rare to encounter. Not to worry, check out our guide to find out some of the rarest mobs in Minecraft.
Rarest Mobs in Minecraft
We have compiled some of the rarest mobs that you will encounter in the open world. Some of these mobs have less than a 1% chance of spawn. So, here are the rarest mobs in Minecraft:
- Polar Bear
- Parrots
- Evoker
- Brown Mooshrooms
- Jockeys
Let’s look into these mobs in more detail.
Polar Bear
As the nature of the Polar Bear suggests, they are pretty neutral and friendly mobs. But if provoked can attack you. These are the mobs that can be found in cold icy biomes. If they feel that you are a threat to them or their cub, they can start attacking you. So, watch out for these mobs as they can deplete your health. While there’s no conventional way to tame them, check out our guide on how to tame a Polar Bear for more insight.
Parrot
This is another mob that cannot be encountered easily. That’s because they are found in the rarest biomes in Minecraft, the Jungle Biome. These mobs have 20% spawn chances and can be found in groups. Once you tame and recruit them, the Parrot mobs will sit on your shoulder. You can check out our detailed guide on how to breed and tame Parrots for more insight.
Evoker
Evoker is a type of Illager mob that is pretty hostile. While these mobs are extremely dangerous, you can kill them for a drop. As you kill this mob, you can get a Totem of Undying as a drop. Evokers usually spawn in Woodland mansions and different raids. If you are having trouble finding these mobs or the Totem, check out our guide on how to get the Totem of Undying.
Brown Mooshrooms
You may have heard of Brown Mushrooms but Brown Mooshrooms are a different kind of mob. These mobs are mushroom-covered variants of cows that can be found in the rare mushroom fields. But these Mooshrooms don’t spawn naturally. They can only spawn when the Red Mooshrooms are struck by lightning. These conditions make it almost impossible for these types of Mooshrooms to spawn.
Jockeys – Rarest Mob
These are the rarest mobs to encounter as they are a combination of more than one or two mobs. Most of the Jockey mobs are hostile and can attack you. And these jockeys can be separated from their riders only if one of them is killed. Chicken Jockey or Baby Zombified Piglin is one of the rare to-find mobs that have less than a 1% chance of spawn. While there are several Jockeys, only a few of them are officially named by the devs. These include the Skeleton Horseman, Spider Jockey, and Chicken Jockey.
