How to Identify the Yokai in Phasmophobia
This creature is attracted by human voices and hunts following these voices. Like other ghosts, they can be identified by conducting certain tests. Here’s how you can complete the investigation by spotting the Yokai:

  • Yokai mostly appears in a house where a family resides, because more people get into conversations very often. A Yokai can only hear you within a 2-3 meter range.
  • When the in-game character is in a range of the Yokai, it can hunt you down even when the Sanity is at 80%. Usually, then hunting by a ghost begin at 50% Sanity.
  • A Yokai becomes more aggressive when you perform an activity closer to them. In such cases, using a Spirit box can help you to identify them.
  • Use a Spirit Box and try to interact with the Yokai. After getting a response, try to move away from it. If paranormal signs start to fade then there’s a Yokai around you.
  • The special distinguished evidence and traces left by a Yokai can be investigated by using:
    • Spirit Box – To interact and get a possible response from them.
    • Ghost Orbs – To find the presence of a ghost using a video feed like a night vision security camera.
    • D.O.T.S Projector – To detect any motion happening around.

That is how you identify the Yokai in Phasmophobia. If you found this article helpful, then make sure to check out our other Phasmophobia guides where we have covered the solution for identifying an Onryo and the Twins.
