How to Get a 5 Star Rating in Animal Crossing New Horizons
When you achieve a 5 star island rating, you will get the recipe for a Golden Watering Can (which will help you get hybrid Golden Roses).

Just like the 3 star rating, your 5 star rating will be given to you by Isabelle when you complete the criteria required for it. You can talk to her for suggestions and recommendations about what you need to do on your island to get that perfect rating. Maybe she will tell you to build bridges or to remove weeds. Whatever she says, follow her directions and you’ll be on your way to get that much sought-after 5 star island rating.
Now, the way to get the perfect rating is not that perfect. Many players have achieved it in various ways and the answer isn’t set in stone. Here’s what they have done to get it.
5 Star Rating Island Guide (ACNH)
- Upgrade Nook’s Cranny
- Build the Able Sisters’ Shop
- Have 10 villagers residing on your island at a time (Here’s how to quickly get more villagers)
- Unlock terraforming
- Have the KK Slider concert on your island
- Add about 50 DIY furniture that has been crafted
- Around 40-45 bought furniture (bought with Bells)
- About 20 furniture pieces that have been bought using Nook Miles
- A lot of fences (the number of fences required could vary for everyone, but try putting more than 50)
- Have 250+ flowers that are bloomed
- Have 100-110 trees
- Some have 10 bamboo clumps as well
- 5-10 bridges and ramps
These numbers will differ for everyone based on which furniture and items you have, but it’s a nice way to have the big picture in mind. This will give you a clue of what you need to do to achieve the top rating for your own island.
Make sure to keep Isabelle in the loop, because her guidance is going to tell you if you are doing things correctly or doing too less or too much of something. Once you have enough on your island, Isabelle will grant you a five star rating!
