Genshin Impact City Reputation System Guide
The new City Reputation system in Genshin Impact update 1.1 allows players to build a relationship with the major cities of Teyvat. We will go into the very depth of the new City Reputation System starting from what it is, how to unlock it, how to increase it, and what are the rewards it yields at different levels. What is City Reputation?
The City Reputation System in Genshin Impact resembles that from games like Destiny 2 and World of Warcraft. It basically describes your standing with people from a specific city in the game. So for instance, if you interact with an NPC associated with Mondstadt and complete a task for him or her, your Reputation in the city will increase.
As you keep on leveling up your Reputation, it will unlock numerous lucrative rewards for that particular city. Currently, the City Reputation System will be available for the two major cities Mondstadt and Liyue, but it will stretch to the newer cities as they are added to the game.
How do I Unlock City Reputation?
You will unlock the City Reputation System in Genshin Impact when you are at or above Adventure Rank 25. If you are short of that, refer to our guide to boost your Adventure Rank quickly. Reaching the specified Adventure Rank is the common prerequisite for unlocking the Reputation System for both cities. However, each city: Mondstadt and Liyue have it’s own prerequisite as well.
Unlocking Mondstadt City Reputation
Apart from reaching Adventure Rank 25, you will also have to complete Mondstadt’s Archon Quest “The Outlander Who Caught The Wind – Prologue: Act 1” to unlock Mondstadt City Reputation.
Unlocking Liyue City Reputation
Apart from reaching Adventure Rank 25, you will have to complete Liyue’s Archon Quest “Farewell, Archaic Lord – Chapter 1: Act II” to unlock Liyue City Reputation.
How to Check City Reputation Level
Once unlocked, you can check your current City Reputation level in Genshin Impact by interacting with a certain NPC in each city. For Mondstadt, you will have to talk to the Knights of Favonius Coordinator, and for Liyue, you will have to interact with the Ministry of Civil Affairs Secretary, Ms. Yu. Interacting with these NPCs will open the screen with detailed information about the City Reputation System in Genshin Impact and your current standing in the system.
How Can I Increase City Reputation?
Currently, you can increase Genshin Impact City Reputation level in four ways: World Exploration, Bounties, Region Quests, and Requests.

Increasing City Reputation Through World Exploration
As the name gives it all, you just have to simply explore the map and complete basic exploration activities. These activities include taking down Elemental Oculi, opening chests, and unlocking waypoints. A player who has already explored the map to a great extent will be at a benefit here.
Increasing City Reputation Through Bounties
Bring down the bounty targets to increase Reputation in a city. One thing to note here is that you can only complete up to 3 bounties each weak across all the cities. The list of bounty targets changes every Monday.
Increasing City Reputation Through Region Quests
This is as simple as it sounds. Simply complete the missions associated with Mondstadt and Liyue cities to increase Reputation.
Increasing City Reputation Through Requests
As your City Reputation Level describes your standing with the people of that city, you can increase it by completing their requests. Similar to bounties, there will be a list of requests that will refresh every Monday, and you can do only up to 3 requests per week across all the cities.
What Reward Will I Get For Increasing City Reputation Level
By increasing your Genshin Impact City Reputation level, you will get multiple lucrative rewards. Some of the rewards are similar for both Mondstadt and Liyue, whereas some others are different for each city. City Reputation Level Rewards in Mondstadt
Here’s what rewards you will get for leveling up Genshin Impact City Reputation level in Mondstadt.
Level 1: Northern Apple Stew (Recipe)
Reaching City Reputation Level 1 in Mondstadt will unlock a new recipe for Northern Apple Stew.
Level 2: Mondstadt Mining Outcrop Search
At Reputation Level 2, you will unlock the Mondstadt Mining Outcrop Search feature. This feature will help you with farming Crystal Chunks. You can currently farm Crystal Chunks but with the Mining Outcrop feature unlocked, the process will become relatively simpler.
The feature will mark Crystal Chunks Ore locations on the map, once you talk to Wagner the Blacksmith in Mondstadt. When you reach Adventure Rank 30 or above, this feature also allows you to farm Magical Crystal Chunks that can be refined to Weapon EXP.
Level 2: Anemoculus Resonance Stone crafting blueprint

There are multiple Anemoculus locations in Genshin Impact and tracking all of them can be tricky. But that won’t be a concern once you unlock the Anemoculus Resonance Stone crafting blueprint by reaching Reputation level 2 in Mondstadt. Once unlocked, the gadget will be craftable from a crafting bench. It requires 5 Dandelion Seeds, 5 Cecilia flowers, and 1 Crystal Chunk to craft the gadget.
You can then use the gadget to get a rough location of unfound Anemoculi. After usage, the gadget will enter 300 seconds cooldown period. You can use the Anemoculus Resonance Stone crafting blueprint only in Mondstadt.
Level 3: Wind Catcher forging blueprint
Reputation Level 3 in Mondstadt will unlock a wind catcher that you can use to collect and store up to 5 Anemograna at once. You can then use the gadget to create a wind current and help you fly high in the air. After the usage, the wind catcher goes under a cooldown period of 100 seconds.
Level 4: Adventurer’s Breakfast Sandwich (Recipe)
Reaching City Reputation Level 4 in Mondstadt will unlock a new recipe for Adventurer’s Breakfast Sandwich.
Level 4: Merchant Discounts
Reaching Reputation Level 4 in Mondstadt will give you merchant discounts at local shops: Good Hunter and Mondstadt General Goods Shop. You will be able to purchase most of the items sold at these shops at a discounted price.
Level 4: Namecard style “Mondstadt – Hero’s Fame”
Mondtsadt city Reputation Level 4 unlocks a new name card style, “Mondstadt – Hero’s Fame.”
Level 5: NRE (Menu 30) forging blueprint
NRE (Menu 30) is like a shortcut option to get directly to your inventory for food items. You can assign one HP recovery and one revival dish to the gadget. The gadget will then automatically map the situation of your team. For instance, if any of your team members fall in the battle, NRE (Menu 30) will automatically offer a revival dish and not an HP-recovery dish.
Level 6: Portable Waypoint
Although the waypoint locations to fast travel in Genshin Impact are close enough, there’s always a location where you have to travel often. The portable waypoint feature unlocked after reaching Reputation Level 6 in Mondstadt will let you create a temporary waypoint of your own.

You can create a portable waypoint anywhere across the map. It will last for 7 days and there can be only one waypoint at a time. After usage, the feature will go down for 60 seconds cooling period. Creating a new portable waypoint before the 7 days of the previous one is completed will destroy the previous waypoint.
Level 6: Anemo Treasure Compass
As the name suggests, this gadget will mark the location of the nearest chest. By following the marker, you will get valuable rewards that will spawn from the chests. If there is no chest available, the gadget will enter a cooldown period of 5 seconds, but if a chest is found, the cooldown period will be 30 seconds.
Level 7: Moon Pie (Recipe)
Reaching City Reputation Level 7 in Mondstadt will unlock a new recipe for Moon Pie.
Level 7: Namecard style “Mondstadt – Blessing”

City Reputation Level Rewards in Liyue

Level 1: Golden Shrimp Balls (Recipe)
Reaching City Reputation Level 1 in Liyue will unlock a new recipe for Golden Shrimp Balls.

Level 2: Liyue Mining Outcrop Search
The Liyue Mining Outcrop Search feature will be unlocked at Reputation Level 2, and usable only in the Liyue region. This feature is similar to that of Mondstadt’s Reputation Level 2 reward. It also offers the same rewards for finding the Crystal Chunk location. Here you will have to talk to Master Zhang the Blacksmith in Liyue to get the locations.
Level 2: Geoculus Resonance Stone crafting blueprint
The Geoculus Resonance Stone crafting blueprint is similar to the Anemoculus Stone crafting blueprint except that it is usable in the Liyue region and shows the rough location for Geoculus and not Anemoculus.
Level 3: Condensed Resin
By reaching Reputation Level 3 in Liyue, you will unlock the Condensed Resin crafting blueprint. You can craft one Condensed Resin by using 1 Crystal Core, 40 Original Resin, and 100 Mora. You can save up to 3 Condensed Resin at a time.
With the help of Condensed Resin, you can collect double the amount of rewards from Ley Line Blossoms and Petrified Trees in Domains. Here’s the thing, you need 40 Original Resin for collecting rewards from Ley Line Blossoms and Petrified Trees.
Condensed Resin will give you two sets of rewards by using 40 Original Resin, instead of 80, thus giving you double rewards. Hence, with Condensed Resin, you won’t have to bother about Original Resin or restoring them.
Level 4: Lotus Flower Crisp (Recipe)
Reaching City Reputation Level 4 in Liyue will unlock a new recipe for Lotus Flower Crisp.
Level 4: Namecard style “Liyue – A Thousand Ships”
Mondtsadt city Reputation Level 4 unlocks a new name card “Liyue – A Thousand Ships.”
Level 4: Merchant Discounts
