The developers of Dead Rails have added another challenge to the list, and this one is called Electric Remains which rewards 30 Bonds and 9 Sheriff Star points. This challenge can take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours to complete and the goal is to sell the corpse of the final Tesla boss. Here’s how to go about it.
How to Complete the Electric Remains Challenge in Dead Rails
First, here’s how you can defeat the Tesla boss, however, this challenge adds an extra step after this task. You need to cover the distance back to the 70km Fortified Town, and for that, it’s best to use the fast Vampire class paired with Snake Oil.
The best way to melt Tesla’s health bar? Place a Lightning Rod near a house, stack up at least four bottles of Holy Water, and bring an Electrocutioner. This combo deals heavy damage fast. For best results, always aim for Tesla’s head when firing the Electrocutioner—it makes a big difference.

You’ll want to carry a whopping 40+ Snake Oil bottles to make the journey manageable so make sure you have collected enough money in the run. Timing is of the essence so that you don’t miss out on your destination. With the Tesla boss in your sack, drink 3 Snake oils because it not only heals you but also gives a temporary speed boost, which can be stacked. Once the speed boost is over, do this again till you reach the safe zone. Avoid any enemies that you encounter along the way and if they are unavoidable, take them down using a rifle.
You can also try the run solo with this class—purchase coal to fuel the train and newspapers for protection. Then, start your journey of looting towns and collecting Snake Oil as well as more fuel. Make sure to loot the bank, church, and other important buildings.

The Werewolf class can use the same Snake Oil approach, but with a twist. Lower the bridge around evening in-game so that it turns to night just as Nikola Tesla appears. This not only grants your class its nighttime bonuses but also gives you double movement speed, which can be a huge help.
Another effective tactic shared by players is to lure Tesla using a horse. Begin damaging him from a distance and kite him toward the 70km mark. Once you’re close to the Fortified Town, continue dealing damage until he’s defeated—this approach can save you from burning valuable time and resources early on. However, this can be more challenging than the previously mentioned strategy.
Lastly, when you reach the safe zone, head to the Trading Post and sell the Nikola Tesla boss’ corpse, which will help you complete the Electric Remains challenge in Dead Rails. If you haven’t done the Pony Express challenge yet, here are the strategies to get it done.
