Nikola Tesla is a boss with the highest HP in the game as of now (5800) and can be tough to take down without knowing the right attacks. If you haven’t seen him during the countdown after you lower the bridge, it’s because you have not resurrected him in the Tesla Lab previously. Check out our linked guide to know how to do it. Once he is rebuilt, he will escape the facility, only to return at the 80,000m mark.
How to Defeat Nikola Tesla in Dead Rails
While you are in the Tesla Lab, don’t forget to pick up the Electrocutioner gun because it has a unique ability making it quite powerful. It can immediately kill smaller enemies but deal good damage to Nikola Tesla. The difference in this gun is that it generates lightning bolts, however, it doesn’t use normal ammo. You need to reload ammunition with the help of a Lightning rod during a Lightning storm or use Holy Water/Crucifix on the dead body of an enemy, while the gun is placed near it.
There will be other enemies as well, so if you’re playing with a group, you can decide who takes down which enemy type beforehand.
As Nikola Tesla approaches quickly, drop some Holy Water on the ground so that he takes damage as soon as he enters the gate. Then, use the Electrocutioner to unleash lightning bolts and you’ll see its health bar (on the Brain in the Jar) reduce a little.
He won’t go down easy, so keep firing the gun, as your friends/teammates do the same. Use Snake Oil to boost your health at regular intervals. A turret placed on your train will also be of help. Hide inside a building if he gets too close and your fellow players can keep draining his health.
The head sells for $250 and the whole body of Nikola Tesla sells for $300. Make sure you have equipped armor, because the boss deals 30 damage per hit to players with full body armor. If you don’t have it, you will receive 60 damage.
Also note that you can’t outrun it because it has a walking speed of 30, and you have a speed of 16. So, it’s best to have a prior strategy (solo or as a team) when you’re about to encounter this boss.
