Clearing Strongholds in Diablo 4 is crucial to rid the area of demons and make it a safe town. Plus, it will also earn you renown, and unlock more side quests, Legion events, waypoints, as well as dungeons. If you are currently working on completing all Strongholds, here’s a map location guide that will help you get them all.
This activity is one of my favorites because it comes with its own story, unique tasks, and puzzles that make the whole process super immersive and less of a grind. Note that if Strongholds are not showing up on your map, there are multiple reasons why this could be happening and we’ve got some possible fixes that will help you out.
How Many Strongholds are there in D4?
There are 3 Strongholds in every zone (Fractured Peaks, Scosglen, Dry Steppes, Kehjistan, and Hawezar) so there are a total of 15 Strongholds for players to clear on the map.
Diablo 4 Stronghold Map Locations
In this map, we have marked the approximate locations of all 15 Strongholds in Diablo IV. Focus on them region-wise and you will be able to collect Renown and more rewards quickly.
Fractured Peaks Strongholds
- Kor Dragan (Fractured Peaks)
- Malnok (Fractured Peaks)
- Nostrava (Fractured Peaks)
Dry Steppes Strongholds
- Temple of Rot (Dry Steppes)
- The Onyx Watchtower (Dry Steppes)
- The Ruins of Qara-Yisu (Dry Steppes)
Kehjistan Strongholds
Here are the locations of all strongholds in Kehjistan to help your Diablo 4 renown progression.
- Alcarnus (Kehjistan)
- Altar of Ruin (Kehjistan)
- Omath’s Redoubt (Kehjistan)
Hawezar Strongholds
- Crusaders’ Monument (Hawezar)
- Eriman’s Pyre (Hawezar)
- Vyeresz (Hawezar)
Scosglen Strongholds
- Hope’s Light (Scosglen)
- Moordaine Lodge (Scosglen)
- Túr Dúlra (Scosglen)
Remember that these can be pretty tough because they will always be one or two levels higher than your current level. You may come across multiple elites at the same time and the type of dangers you will face in every zone will differ too. Make sure you have enough healing potions, use elixirs against an enemy type and modify your build according to the powers you are going up against. Plus, it’s best to go for these missions after you have reached at least level 30.
After clearing the enemies, make sure to rekindle the Wanderer’s Shrine to conquer the location.
Can you Solo a Stronghold in D4?
Yes, it is possible to solo a stronghold but it will be tough due to the number of enemies and AoE attacks that they will end up doing. So if possible, join a party with a friend or stranger for extra party XP as well. But if that’s not possible, you can definitely solo Strongholds if you have the right build for the enemy type and add-ons/boosts in the form of Elixirs.
After clearing these areas and leveling up further, you may want to try out the PvP aspect of Diablo 4 – get more details in our guide right here.
