Legion Events in Diablo 4 or The Gathering Legions events are timed activities that offer many rewards for earning enough Mastery. Like the Helltides or World Bosses, Legion events spawn regularly allowing you to get many rewards according to their drop rates. While you can also take on these events solo, dealing with hordes of monsters is easier with a party. If you are stuck after beating the campaign, Gathering Legions events can be crucial for the endgame due to their possible rewards. But how often do Legion events spawn? And where to find these events across the Sanctuary? Check out our guide that explains all about what are Gathering Legion events in D4.
What is a Legion Event in Diablo 4?
Being split into multiple timed rounds, the objective of the Legion events in D4 is to beat all the Servants of Hell to spawn an Overlord boss. In total, three Servants of Hells spawn for every Legion round. But to spawn them, you must kill enough of their minions while the hourglass keeps on ticking. While you don’t necessarily need to defeat Servants of Hell to spawn Overlord, you must at least defeat the first wave of enemies. There will be multiple objectives within the rounds as you progress.
When a Servant of Hell spawns, a new timer will start allowing you to earn more Mastery bonuses by killing hordes and the mini-bosses. Once the timer runs out, an Overlord boss will spawn alongside more hordes of enemies. For completing a Legion event in Diablo 4, you must defeat the Overlord boss. But for the players looking for Mastery bonuses and drops, beat more Servant of Hell mini-bosses.
Diablo 4 Legion Event Timer
Since the Legion events are time-limited, all the objectives or stages are divided with a specific timer (indicated by an hourglass). You can find this timer to the right of your screen.
Here are all the objectives and timers while completing Legion Events in D4:

- Defeat the second Servant of Hell: 1 minute
- Slay enemies to provoke the Servants of Hell (Third Wave): 1 minute, 30 seconds.

- Defeat the Overlord boss: 2 minutes
