Many players are seeing an infinite loading screen in Palworld and are looking for a fix. This has happened on different occasions, even after a patch – on official as well as dedicated servers. The game is early access at the time of writing, so bugs and glitches are expected, however, there are a few workarounds to potentially fix the game if you’re stuck on the loading screen in Palworld on PC and Xbox consoles.
How to Fix Infinite Loading Screen in Palworld
If you’re facing the loading screen and login screen errors with a black screen that doesn’t let you join games, it could be due to server overload, a bug, or could be related to guilds on a dedicated server, as noted by some players.
Check for Server Overload
Whenever there’s a planned downtime due to server maintenance or a sudden outage due to a high population of players joining the game, @Palworld_EN will acknowledge it on Twitter, where they are pretty active with updates.
For the most recent issue of the infinite loading screen in Palworld, after a patch that fixed some bugs and added countermeasures against cheats and exploits, they wrote:
“Following the recent patch, numerous logins are concurrently underway, leading to congested access.
We are sorry for the inconvenience but please wait a moment before trying to connect to the servers.
Single-player, co-op, and private servers should be relatively unaffected by this.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
So, if servers are indeed down, you need to wait until they are fixed and running smoothly.
Exit the Game and Try Again
Closing the game and relaunching it has worked for some players. You can also close the Steam client, relaunch it, and check if the game loads up now.
But if connection issues are persistent, chances are that all players may get kicked from the server again. You can try to make multiple attempts, but if that doesn’t work, wait it out and try again later.
Dedicated Server Workaround
A Redditor has mentioned a way to fix the infinite loading screen bug in multiplayer for those who are playing on a dedicated server with friends.
They write, “If you are playing on a dedicated server with friends in one guild do not leave the Guild unless all guild members are online! If one person leaves while other members are offline, it will cause those offline member’s player profiles to become corrupted, and the next time they try to log into the server they will be met with an infinite loading screen.
The only solution that’s been discovered so far is for an Admin to go into the file directory and delete the affected player profile, thus resetting them to a new character the next time they log in (all pals and level progress will be gone.)”
Verify Game Files
Try this if you feel like the issue could be due to corrupted files on your end.
- Open up Steam.
- Click on Library and choose Palworld.
- Right-click and go to Properties.
- Head to Local Files.
- Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.
- After this, relaunch the game and see if the issue comes up.
At the end of the day, Palworld is an indie game; they may never have expected such a response from gamers worldwide and so the servers may not yet be equipped for such a demand. They seem to be working on it along with bug fixes in every update, so we hope to see more updates soon.
Palworld players are encountering more glitches and errors such as the “Low level fatal error” on Steam, “Not found session 91” error, “Failed to EOS login” and “Xbox Multiplayer Timeout” and we’ve got troubleshooting tips for each of them right here.
