It also provides a nice boost of XP because the base XP is 3500 but with a Clever enchant, and Double XP gamepass and a perfect catch, you can even obtain a whopping 23K+ XP.
How to Get the Grand Reef Guardian in Fisch
As its name implies, the Grand Reef Guardian is catchable in the Grand Reef location which can be found near Forsaken Shores. Hop onto your boat and make your way towards Forsaken Shores marked in the sky, but then turn towards these GPS coordinates: X: -3,576, Y: 151, Z: 523. At the time of writing, the island is named ??? with a countdown but it will get an official name in the next update. You can identify this island easily because there will be a dark cloud hovering above and a big whirlpool around it.
The best bait to catch the Grand Reef Guardian in Fisch is the Truffle Worm which can be obtained from Treasure Chests, Volcanic and Coral Geodes, completing 50+ Angler quests as well as by redeeming some codes. Instead of waiting for the stroke of luck, you can directly purchase Coral Geodes from the Desolate Pocket shop for 600C$. Thankfully, it has no restrictions of time, weather and season, so you can grind at this spot for as long as you wish.
While trying to reel in the fish, you will see a -75% progress speed applied, and since the fish dashes around on the fishing bar, you need to use a rod with good Resilience and/or Control. Something like an enchanted Steady Rod, Arctic Rod, Rod of the Depths, No Life rod, and more good mid to late-game rods will make farming the Grand Reef Guardian an easy task.
