Street Fighter 6 features some advanced techniques like the Drive Rush mechanic. This mechanic can help you perform lethal combos and finish the match. However, it’s a double-edged sword. Using it constantly results in burnout, which is a surefire way to lose a round. But if you master it and use it wisely, then you can turn around any round in an instant. In this guide, we will tell you how to perform the Drive Rush in SF6.
How to Perform a Drive Rush in Street Fighter 6
To perform a Drive Rush in Street Fighter 6:
- Perform a Drive Parry by holding R1 + R2 (or L1 in Modern Controls).
- While in the parry position, tap forward twice to do a Drive Rush.
By performing this rush, you can quickly close the distance between you and the enemy. If you do it after performing a perfect parry, then you can catch the enemy by surprise and hit them with massive combos. However, keep in mind that performing this move will cost you a Drive Stock. Moreover, if you use this move without using parry (i.e. any cancelable attack), then you’ll lose 3 units of Drive Stock. As we mentioned, this is a double-edged sword. If you use it till your Drive Bar depletes, then your character will be stunned for a few moments. And these few moments are enough for experienced players to finish you off.
Players have found an alternative technique that lets you perform Drive Rush even quicker. To use this shortcut technique, simply hit forward and then hit forward + parry at the same time. With this, you can instantly close in on your opponent before they get a chance to recover from the attack.
