Valheim Darkwood Building: How To Craft & Make Darkwood Pieces

Another crucial addition that players get in Valheim’s Hearth and Home update is Darkwood. Want to know how to make Darkwood buildings including shingle roofs, pole, gate, beam and more? Let’s take a look.

How to Make Darkwood Buildings in Valheim?

You need Tar from the Plains biome to make Darkwood buildings in Valheim after the Hearth and Home update. We’ve detailed how to get Tar here but in short, you can obtain it from Tar nodes at Tar Pits or by defeating Enemy Growths.

Make sure to find out how exactly to obtain Tar because you will need it to craft every Darkwood building piece in Valheim. Note that apart from Tar, you will also need Wood, Fine Wood and Iron.

Where to Get Wood: Players can pick up wood that is lying on the ground or whack any tree or stumps to get them as drops. You can also chop up bushes to get some amount of wood.
How to Get Fine Wood: To get Fine wood, you need to chop Birch and Oak trees present in the Meadows or Plains biomes.
How to Get Iron: In order to get Iron, you need to first find Scrap iron that you can mine from Sunken Crypts in the Swamp biome. Once obtained, you can smelt it into Iron with the help of a Smelter.

With all of these ingredients obtained, you can craft the following Darkwood pieces to build with them.
