Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an action role-playing video game that involves a wide range of monsters. To defeat these monsters, you need several abilities and skills. Chain attacks are one of the best character arts that bring three characters altogether against enemies. While this attack can inflict maximum damage, it might be a bit tricky to use it. Not to worry, here’s our guide on how to unlock and perform chain attacks in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
How to Unlock Chain Attacks in Xenoblade Chronicles 3
- You can unlock chain attacks by defeating the Gyanna Aspar monster during Riku and Manana’s standard quest during Chapter 2.
- As soon as you defeat the monster, you will unlock and be able to perform the Chain attacks.
- But before you use this attack, you need to charge and fill the Chain attack gauge or meter.
- While this gauge does not appear, it does appear on the bottom-right of your screen during a battle.
- We suggest fighting the Elite and Unique types of monsters to charge the gauge.
- You can inflict several combos, role actions, and cancel attacks on arts against your enemies to fill the gauge.
How to Perform a Chain Attack
Follow the mentioned below steps:
- You can use and perform the chain attack once the gauge is filled. Hit the (+) button to start the chain attack.
- As the attack begins, wait for the animation and choose between three orders for the Chain attack.
- But these chain orders will be random based on your current party.
- If you have a Hero in your party, the chain order can also include the hero.
- Upon selecting the order, check for the completion bonus of each order.
- Then, choose one card out of three chain orders to select your first chain attack.
- As the battle begins, choose the remaining party members from the bottom left of your screen. You can see the Tactical Points (TP) above their icons.
- Now, we need to fill the Chain Order meter using these tactical points.
- If the TP is above 100%, you can inflict great damage to your enemies.
- If the meter is not drained after one round, it will begin another round of chain attack.
- But your characters might be unavailable as you have already used them during the battle.
- As an alternative, you can use the Defender characters as they can be reactivated with most TP for the next chain order.
