The Last of Us 2: 24-Minutes Gameplay Reveals Rope Swinging or Descending & More

As announced, a new episode of State of Play was held yesterday on Thursday, May 27. This time it was a preview focused on The Last of Us 2, the next title of Naughty Dog. In it, we were able to learn various details of gameplay and see the game in action.

The State of Play was a broadcast in which Neil Druckmann, Vice President of Naughty Dog and Director of The Last of Us 2 showed us details of the game world, as well as information on the systems that will bring the game to life.

So we know that the sequel will take place in Seattle, years after the events of the first The Last of Us. In it, we will travel through different areas and times of the year, which allows us to see that it is a project with a story that will take place over different months.

The Last of Us 2 will have more open spaces, causing changes in exploration and combat. In the first, we will see that Ellie will be able to use horses or boats to move around the different environments that she will explore. That is not all, since it will also have a rope that will allow you to reach different areas when swinging or descending with it.

Now, what are the changes made in the combat? The first thing you should know is that Seattle, where The Last of Us 2 takes place, is a war zone. There are different factions that are fighting for territory and resources. As you can imagine, this means that you will have to be very careful when exploring enemy areas, as you will not be welcome anywhere.

According to Druckmann, all the game systems are designed to make you feel immersed in the post-apocalyptic world that Naughty Dog created. In this way, you can accompany Ellie on her heartbreaking journey and feel that you are part of it.

To finish, Naughty Dog and Sony released an 8-minute gameplay sequence that shows us The Last of Us 2 systems in action and uncut. In it, we can see Ellie stealthily infiltrating an enemy area. This forces her to eliminate enemies in different ways in order to stay alive.
