Fallout 4 has continued to generate praise since its release back in 2015, and with the recent Fallout TV series, the franchise is once again in the limelight. The timing couldn’t get any better considering that Bethesda has also released a major update for Fallout 4. Although the update has received mixed reviews since it is affecting most mods now, many players are relieved to find out that this update eradicates a glitch that softlocked players. Fallout 4 Next Gen Update Resolves Long Standing Creation Club Glitch
Although the Fallout 4 next gen update wasn’t welcomed as graciously as the developers hoped the players would, it has still brought about a few changes that have helped some players resolve a persisting issue. Specifically, the Codsworth Bug, which caused an unexpected barrier when it came to experiencing one of the main quests during the initial stages of the game.
It also didn’t help that every time a player tried to download and access items from the Creation Club, a bug would get triggered that caused Codsworth to freeze up. To avoid this unfortunate situation, players had to remove the items from the Creation Club and reinstall the game.
However, since the next gen update rolled out this glitch was resolved and players were able to access all the other characteristics of the early main quests. Along with this, the Bethesda team took to X (Twitter) to announce “The #Fallout 4 next-gen update brings with it a new Quality and Performance mode, widescreen support, and 3 free Creation Club content packs for all players!“
With the soft lock fixed and a ton of new content to explore, the update seemed to be a win for Bethesda. Alas, the sorry state that it has left for mods and modders is enough to trigger an uproar among the fans. Mods including the likes of Fallout 4 Script Extender are broken and players are looking for workarounds to get them working again.
