Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC Review – The Perfect FPS Game of 2019

Depiction of War and War crimes is so real

A lot was riding ever since it was announced that Infinity was rebooting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and for those who have been fans of the Modern Warfare franchise, it was the chance to see some of the most beloved characters come back to the game, and boy did Infinity War deliver.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is how you would want every first-person shooter to be designed; everything about the game seemed perfect, from the cutscenes to how the missions are created; you always have a clear objective. Moreover, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare plays like a war movie that you get to take part in actively.

The game’s depiction of war and war crimes is so accurate that you will too develop a connection with most of the characters involved in the game, and with the return of everyone’s favorite Captain Price dictating the show, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare cements its position as probably the best shooter game of 2019.

This is no small feat, though, as in competition with Modern Warfare, you have two behemoths by Ubisoft in Division 2 and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare obliterates the competition. As you begin the game, you will know there is something special about it, with the cinematics designed to draw you in, the relationships built and broken, and the best part was the character arc given to everyone.

Every person featured in the game has a definite role to play, and it never feels like the character has been utilized for something they probably wouldn’t be needed.

You get to see war and its implications from the eyes of soldiers and civilians, and the most heart-wrenching thing is watching it through the eyes of the children you get to play with as you progress further in the story. The game gives a fitting origin to every character it can.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s only drawback is that the campaign does not last long. That was the only thing I felt as the game ended; I wanted it to last longer, but with the option of Multiplayer, it manages to take your mind off the story and get into the action quickly.

Does Call of Duty: Modern Warfare compare to the one released almost 12 years ago, well that is up for debate, but you cannot deny that the current Modern Warfare is probably just as good. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will always be a unique game as it introduces us to this rich narrative, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare carries on the tradition.

Even after hours of completing the game, I could not stop thinking about some of the characters and the cliffhanger ending Call of Duty: Modern Warfare treats us to, which would be so sad if someone had to spoil it.

If you haven’t yet played any of the games in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, this would be a perfect starting point as it ties everything in perfectly. Still, if you are already a veteran of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, you cannot afford to miss this.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision and is available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
