Before you start cultivating your Watermelon patch in Roblox’s Grow a Garden, you’ll need to get the Legendary Watermelon seed. Watermelon seeds require 2,500 Sheckles to purchase and have 12% rarity, but they reward you well with a base sell price of 3,000 Sheckles.
Just like other crops, all you have to do is plant the seed and wait, however, the right time of harvesting can make a big difference in the value you get from it. Whether you’re doing it for a quest or to increase your income, here’s everything you need to know about growing Watermelon.

How to Get Watermelon in Grow a Garden Roblox

To get Watermelon seeds, visit Sam’s Shop and purchase the Legendary-tier seed for 2,500 sheckles (or 195 Robux). It won’t be available when the shop restocks every time, so make sure to be the first to teleport and check when it refreshes. If you’ve made friends in the server, someone can gift you a seed or the fruit itself to help you make more money.
Once you’ve snagged the seeds, open your inventory and click the Seeds button to equip the watermelon seed. Go to your garden plot and left-click (or tap) an empty soil patch to plant the seed; the seed will automatically start growing.
Watermelon crops mature within a few seconds (similar to other temporary crops) so simply wait for a little while. Once the watermelon reaches full maturity, approach the fruit and press E to harvest it and add it to your inventory. Then, click on the ‘Sell’ button, interact with the merchant, select “I want to sell my inventory,” and convert your watermelons into Sheckles. Repeat this cycle to boost your income.
Watermelons are single-harvest crops in the game—after harvesting, the plant disappears and must be replanted with new seeds. Each watermelon averages a weight of 5 kg and sells for about 3,000 Sheckles, making it one of the more valuable Legendary crops. Because they do not respawn, plan your garden space carefully and be prepared to reinvest your money in seeds after each harvest.
If the Watermelons get mutations like Wet, Golden, Rainbow, etc., their sell price increases by a significant margin, so wait until natural weather conditions occur in the game and let the mutations stack.
You can also work toward the ‘Watermelon Madness’ badge by planting 50 watermelon seeds if you’d like! Once you’ve accumulated enough sheckles, balance watermelon planting with multi-harvest crops like strawberries or blueberries early on to maintain cash flow while watermelon seeds restock.
That’s everything about this crop. If you’re new to being a gardener in Grow a Garden, here are the best early game crops to unlock first.
