In Grow a Garden, mutations are special versions of crops that appear under certain conditions or randomly. These mutations increase the crop’s value, change its appearance, and can sometimes stack with others for even more valuable results. Here’s a guide on every mutation currently in the game.

Gold Mutation
- Value Multiplier: ×20
- Chance: 1% (1 in 100)
- How to Trigger: Randomly replaces a normal fruit in your garden
- This is one of the most common rare mutations and is very profitable
Rainbow Mutation
- Value Multiplier: ×50
- Chance: Approximately 0.1% (1 in 1,000)
- How to Trigger: This mutation is also a random replacement of a normal fruit
- Notes: Extremely rare and valuable
Wet Mutation
- Value Multiplier: ×2
- How to Trigger: Occurs only during rain
- Crop Type: Multi-harvest crops only
- Notes: Weather-dependent, good for stacking with other mutations
Shocked Mutation
- Value Multiplier: ×50
- How to Trigger: Happens when lightning hits a fruit during thunderstorms
- Notes: Very rare, and extremely valuable when combined with others
Big (Overgrown) Mutation
- Value Multiplier: ×1 (no bonus)
- How to Trigger: Random, more common with certain sprinklers
- Notes: Only changes appearance; no boost in value, and doesn’t show a tag in inventory
Choc Mutation
- Value Multiplier: ×2
- How to Trigger: Easter event only, by placing a Chocolate Sprinkler next to a multi-use plant
- Notes: Seasonal mutation, only active during the Easter event
Mutation Stacking
Some mutations can appear together on a single fruit, multiplying their effects:
- Wet + Gold: ×2 × ×20 = ×40
- Wet + Rainbow: ×2 × ×50 = ×100
- Wet + Shocked + Gold: ×2 × ×50 × ×20 = ×2,000
- Wet + Shocked + Rainbow: ×2 × ×50 × ×50 = ×5,000
Stacked mutations are rare but can make a huge difference in crop value.
How to make the most of mutations
- Watch the weather: Rain and thunderstorms increase the chances of Wet and Shocked mutations so keep an eye on your most valuable fruits during this period.
- Use better sprinklers: Advanced and Godly Sprinklers can increase your chances of mutations so make sure to use the Gear shop to purchase them whenever required.
- Seasonal events: Participate in limited-time events (such as the Easter event) to access exclusive mutations like Choc.
- Focus on multi-harvest crops: These crops are compatible with more mutations and can be harvested multiple times.
