Helldivers 2 is a game best enjoyed when played with your squad but recently many players have been unable to join their friends and are looking for a fix. If your friend list is also not working then worry not you aren’t alone in facing this issue. The good news is the developers have acknowledged this bug and have even suggested a workaround. How to Fix Can’t Play with Friends in Helldivers 2
Use the Friend Code to Join them rather than adding them directly. Basically, when you try to join your friends directly from your Steam or PSN friends list you get this error. So in order to get around it you need to add them using their Friend Code. This is how it works:
- Open the game’s menu and go to the Social Tab.
- Here you can find 4 options:
- Friends
- Recent Players
- Friend Requests
- Blocked Players
- Aside from that, there are two main things to see here:
- Search Bar: Here you can enter the code that your friends generate and share with you.
- Your Friend Code: You can use this to get your code and share it with them.
- Add your friends from here and now you can normally invite them to your squad or join them from the Friends tab.
In case this all feels like too much of a hassle then for now you don’t have much of an option but to wait for the developers to fix it for good and release an update patch. So in the meantime, you could either join a public game to play with random strangers or play Solo.
