How To Matchmake And Join A Public Game In Helldivers 2

Published Date :

Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter that is best experienced when played with friends. However, it isn’t easy to convince your friends to get the game or maybe align your schedule to play together. Luckily, the game has added an option in which you can matchmake and play a public game with randoms. In fact, you get options to both host or join a game. So if you aren’t sure about the process then here is how it works:

You should use the game’s Quick Play option to join public matches. While in the ship, interact with Galactic War map and press Quick Play. The game will look for a match for you. Once found you will join some random lobby and will be able to play with strangers.

In case you happen to not find it then there are chances your Matchmaking privacy settings have been changed. By default, it should be Public, but if it is Friends only then here is how you can change it:

  1. Open the Menu.
  2. Here, go to the Options Tab.
  3. Here find the Matchmaking Privacy option.
  4. Set it to be Public.

How to Host a Public Game for Randoms to Join

  1. Select the mission from your ship.
  2. Now, you just have to wait for others to join.
  3. Make sure you don’t get in the pod else the mission will start.

The game usually does this part pretty quickly, as several players are looking for matches. Aside from that you can also use the game’s SOS Beacon feature. You drop into the mission first and then send a signal for other players to join you.

That is all for how you can matchmake and join or host public lobbies. While you are here I highly suggest you give our other guides a read on how to get super credits, ping, and unlock new weapons.
