What Are Society Medallions In Fortnite Chapter 5?

Chapter 5 Season 1 introduced players to a ton of additional content including a new island, weapon mods, and even new movement mechanics in Fortnite. However, one of the features that certainly caught many eye is the new Society Medallions in Fortnite. And before collecting and equipping them in the new chapter, you might want to know more about how exactly they work and what you are getting yourself into.

These Fortnite Medallions are some of the new buff items that offer a couple of advantages for the players during their match. You will have to be careful collecting them or you might attract unnecessary enemies in the game. So if you want to know more about these newly added items and all their uses, then here is a guide you should check out further.

Society Medallions in Fortnite are items that buff up either your maximum shield capacity or shield regeneration during the match. You will be able to collect them by facing and defeating five different bosses across the map in the game. Once you collect the medallions and store them up in your inventory, the shield will regenerate over time with each tick.

Along with shield regeneration, they also open vaults that are used to mod weapons in Fortnite. This makes them essential items to have during your match if you want to get your hands on all the weapon mods.

With that being said, these Fortnite Medallions do not take up any slot once stored in the inventory. Meaning, you will be able to store all five medallions during the match once you collect them.

However, one important thing that you will have to keep in mind is that having a medallion in your inventory will attract a lot of enemies. After collecting it, you will be marked on opponents’ maps which makes it easier to spot you. The more Society Medallions you have at your disposal in Fortnite, the more precise location will be displayed.

As mentioned earlier, you will need to defeat five different bosses that are scattered across the map in Fortnite to get the Society Medallions. Here are all the of them that you can collect in the game:

    • Oscar’s Medallion
    • Nisha’s Medallion
    • Montague’s Medallion
    • Valeria’s Medallion
    • Peter Griffin’s Medallion

Each of these is dropped by their respective bosses and facing them might be the trickiest task. Unlike other NPCs, these are tougher opponents, and the way you will know when you are close to them is when you will see yellow circles near their spawn areas.

These bosses do use the medallion and regenerate their shield over time, so we would recommend having a good weapon to deal extensive damage to them. Here are the locations of all the Fortnite medallions bosses:

    • Oscar – Lavish Lair
    • Nisha – Fencing Field
    • Montague – Grand Glacier
    • Valeria – Reckless Railways
    • Peter Griffin – Snooty Steppes

That’s everything covered in this guide. If you want to know more about Chapter 5 Season 1, then be sure to check out our guides on our dedicated Fortnite section, right here on Gamer Tweak.
