While going through the Save the Refugees questline in BG3, players will be faced with the choice of either saving the Tieflings by siding with them or the druids amidst the goblin attack on the grove. And although the obvious choice might be to either go with the two options available, preferably save the Tieflings to gain their trust, one might wonder if at all you can side with the goblins in their siege. Players will come across many such choices that might affect their Baldur’s Gate 3 going forward. The story too will unfold the way they want.
Now the question is, can you join the Goblins, and if so what exactly are the consequences that you will face in the playthrough. Having said that, it will ultimately boil down to what kind of character and campaign you want to go through. So if you want to know whether you can side with the goblins, then here is everything there is to know about it.
Can I Side With the Goblins in BG3?
Yes, you can side with the Goblins in BG3 while going through the Save the Refugees questline at the start of your campaign. Going through with the siege and killing the Tieflings will let you gain Minthara as a party member as well as a romance option. She will approve of your action of raiding the grove instead the saving the inhabitants. However, there are other things to keep in mind. Karlach, Wyll, and Gale will disapprove of this action and might even leave your party immediately in Baldur’s Gate 3. Along with them, you won’t be able to recruit Druid Halsin as well in the game.
Not to mention, killing the Tieflings won’t help you save Karlach in the game. While you do get some rewards while going through the choice. Minthara will hand over some Illithid Parasites to you once you raid the grove. You will also be able to go through the Underdark without any hassle. And the Grymforge path is the best if you are looking to grind your way through the levels.
However, we would not recommend this choice as the direct consequences will outweigh the benefits you get heavily. Instead siding with the Tieflings or the druid would be the way to go.
