How to Romance Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3
You can romance Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3 in his bear form while progressing Act 3 in the campaign. But as you go down that road, you must gain his approval by taking certain choices as you progress.
So, here are all the choices you must take for romancing Halsin in BG3:
- Firstly, you must find and save Halsin during Act 1 from the Shattered Sanctum or Gobin Camp. For that, you must kill three Goblin leaders and rescue the Tiefling refugees from the Minthara enemies.
- Whenever you talk to Halsin, choose the dialogues that are supportive, kind, and positive to him. Once you get a dialogue option to recruit and ask him to join your camp, select that dialogue.
- However, Halsin won’t become your party member and join the camp at this point.
- As you progress with Act 2, it is crucial to save Isobel, the Cleric, and other inhabitants at the Last Light Inn.
- If you have selected the Dark Urge or Nightsong races, a few dialogues or decisions can destroy the Inn.
- Once you rescue the Inn, find and speak with a Sleeping man over there.
- After interacting with him, you must talk to Halsin for triggering a questline that involves finding Thaniel. Since he is a child that Halsin wants to find, complete the required quest with him.
- You must protect Halsin and defend the portal when he is traveling through dimensions. Note that it is important to prevent Halsin’s death during this ongoing battle.
- Once you have finished the battle alongside Halsin, you can recruit him to your party.
- While conversing with Halsin, ask him about his previous lovers and his opinion of yours to build up a romantic relationship with him. Also, ensure to complete all the pending tasks from Halsin.
Can you Romance Halsin if you already have a Lover?
Yes, you can pursue a romantic relationship with Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3 even though you are romancing other NPC characters. These companions may include Shadowheart, Astarion, or Karlach. But as Halsin states during one of the talks, he is very happy to share. But you cannot romance Halsin before completing Act 3 and beating General Kethric Thorm. You can romance Halsin once you reach the Wyrm’s Crossing and rest for a few moments.
Upon resting at your camp, it will trigger various cutscenes. Keep on resting at the camp until you are told that someone wants to speak to you. As you reach over there, you will find Halsin waiting for you. If you are romancing another companion, here are the following dialogue responses you will receive:
- “What are you saying exactly?”
- “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested – but I’m already in a relationship.”
- “You just want to share? What do you mean?”
- “I will speak with (current companion)”
Rather than breaking up with your companion in BG3, you can talk to the companion if you are romancing them currently. So, here are all the safe dialogue options to select while talking with your companion:
- “I wanted to talk to you about us, and exclusivity in our relationship.”
- “He’s open-minded and willing to share… as long as you are.”
Once you have convinced your partner, head back to Halsin and tell him that it works out for them.
How to Romance Halsin’s Bear Form in BG3 (Love Cutscene)
With the romance unfolding, here’s the cutscene where things start getting intimate with Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3. Once you have rested again, Halsin will be waiting for you at the Druid glade.
So, here are the following dialogues you can select in order:
- “Why, is the big, strong Archdruid Halsin nervous? Adorable.”
- “Of course. What else do you think I’m here for?”
As you respond with this dialogue, your character, and Halsin will start kissing each other. But since it can be difficult for Halsin to tame the beast, he will soon transform into a Bear.
- “Don’t apologize. I like it.”
- Alternative dialogues:
- “I’m flattered I have that effect on you. Now come here.”
- “Yes, change back again. Let me have the beast… and the beast have me.”
Choosing any of the above responses will switch Halsin into a Bear form in BG3. Soon enough, the camera will pan out to a Squirrel watching the romance in awe and shock from a distance.
