We recommend avoiding close-range fights with Reaper until you have a cover with you. Reaper can use his Shadow Step ability to teleport anywhere and can try to sneak attack. Moreover, he has an impressive damage output so it won’t be a big deal for him to eliminate you. However, if you have a cover then you can cover more area increasing your line of sight. This will help you to locate Reaper comparatively easily and will reduce the chance of getting eliminated.
