Reaper Changes & Character Rework in Overwatch 2

Reaper Guide in Overwatch 2

Earlier, Overwatch used to be a 6v6 multiplayer game but now the numbers are reduced to be a 5v5 game. Thereafter, this change provided Heroes with an enhancement in their Passive Abilities. For DPS (Damage) Heroes like Reaper, they have received a 25% boost in their Movement and Reload Speed for a few seconds each time they eliminate an opponent. This temporary boost does not add up after each elimination but gets reset.

How to Play as Reaper in Overwatch 2 (Strategies)

Here are some tips and strategies you can use while playing as Reaper in OW2:

  • Reaper is a specialist in short-range battles where he can decimate any opponent with minimum effort with his Hellfire Shotguns. Keeping this in mind, you can use his Shadow Step ability to teleport behind the enemy. This will get you a chance to attack him from behind and get an upper hand in battles. Since Reaper has a high DPS, it is possible to withstand durable Tank Heroes like Winston and Roadhog.
  • Further, you can take the risks by playing more aggressively while playing as Reaper in Overwatch 2. If you think you are about to get overpowered by the enemies, you can use Reaper’s Wraith Form to retreat.
  • Before using your Ultimate, make sure you are standing in an area above ground. This makes the Death Blossom Ability more effective and it becomes easy to eliminate multiple enemies.
  • Also, keep in mind that Reaper is the most durable flanker in Overwatch 2 but he still has some drawbacks. He has comparatively lesser mobility than most of the Heroes which make Wraith Form his primary way to retreat. Therefore, try to target solo opponents rather than taking on a group of enemies.
