Pharah is a Damage character in OW2, so as per her role you should play her as a DPS character. But unlike most DPS characters you won’t be running around on the ground taking fights. You should take the high ground and play her as a sniper. This is thanks to her 2 abilities: Jump Jet & Hover Jets. Here are some tips that should let you use her better:
- Practice using Jump Jet & Hover Jet: While both of the abilities’ descriptions are pretty straightforward, using them in combat isn’t so much. So in order to learn them better go to practice and get a feel of how these abilities actually work.
- Understand your surroundings: Since Pharah will mostly be hovering around you should understand the map that you are playing in. Knowing your surroundings will let you know where you can take fights from and what spots work as a cover.
- Pick your targets: Since you have the ability to basically fly around. You have an advantage against some characters, while you have to be wary of some others. Characters Reaper, Lucio, and Symmetra have a short range. So you can easily pick on them while being out of their range. But characters with Hitscan are the worst enemies of Pharah, these characters include Soldier: 76, Widowmaker, and Cassidy.
- Stay above the others: Continuing with the puns Pharah gets an upper hand while she is in the air. So don’t lower yourself and play from the ground. This is mainly because her attacks are slow. So not only will you give up on your advantage, but will become more of an easier target for every other enemy to hit.
- Try moving around: Just because you are in the air won’t make you invincible. Since you can be targeted by projectile attacks you should always be on the move. And the more your moves are unpredictable the better you can survive.
