This item will help you get evidence about the ghost you are encountering and there’s a certain way you should use it. Here’s what you have to do.
- First, go to the room where there’s the ghost.
- Place the Spirit Box there.
- Turn off the lights in the room.
- Begin your set of questions for the spirit.
- Use the voice commands to communicate with the spooky spirits. Try the general questions like:
- Who are you?
- What is your name?
- Are you alone?
- Are you angry?
- Why are you here?
- Can you show yourself?
- Give us a sign.
- Should we leave?
- Are you friendly?
- Talk to us.
Initially, some ghosts will talk easily but at higher difficulty levels, the ghost will be a tough nut to crack.

Whenever you see the error message of no microphone detected even if it is connected and working properly otherwise, close the current investigation. Doing this will potentially solve the bug when you start a new investigation.
It is a known bug that the developers have addressed on steam. Until it is fixed, you can use this temporary fix as a substitute. Make sure to not use alt + tab with this game, though, because that is causing the issues with voice recognition.
