Layered Armor simply changes your character’s look and does not give any stats of its own. If you have a set of armor equipped because it is powerful but you don’t like the way it looks, you can use Layered Armor to hide the first set while retaining all of the benefits. So if you are wondering how to get and equip Layered Armor in Monster Hunter Stories 2, then read on to know more.

How to Equip Layered Armor in MHS 2?

Equip Layered Armor in MHS 2

In Monster Hunter Stories 2, go to the chest found within your house to easily equip Layered Armor. Once inside, select the Appearance settings. You’ll get the customization option for the Layered Armor option at the bottom. You can also modify or remove the Layered Armor you’re presently wearing from this screen. From the Appearance option, you may also alter the two primary colors of your armor, just like your character’s face and hair.

To get Layered Armor in Monster Hunter Stories 2, you need to visit Layered Armor Smithy in Lulucion. This smithy will be able to give you layered versions of all the armors you have already forged yourself. Lulucion (the Hunter’s City) has two smithies: one for forging, upgrading, and purchasing weapons, and a separate smithy for Layered Armor exclusively. He’ll be on the other side of town, away from all of the big stalls.

However, before you can obtain the armor, you must first unlock the armor set by farming monster parts and spending bottle caps. This implies that in order to acquire the Layered Armor version, you must have previously crafted the original armor set. Pay 700 Zenny to the Smithy once you’ve located him to obtain the Layered Amor.

How to Get More Layered Armor in MHS 2?

There are other ways to obtain Layered Armor in Monster Hunter Stories 2. The Mahanna Outfit Layered Armor is available for purchase from Melynx Inc. This cosmetic is available for purchase in return for 5 bottle caps. This will be the first Layered Armor available in MHS 2, and it will appear in the game’s opening cinematic. For the Kamura Garb Layered Armor, you must have your Monster Hunter Rise save data on your Nintendo Switch. Likewise, in Monster Hunter Rise, your MHS 2 save file will award you the Rider Armor Layered Armor.

How to Get More Layered Armor in MHS 2 Deluxe Edition

Razewing Alpha and Razewing Beta Layered Armors are also available if you purchase the Deluxe Edition of MHS 2. This Layered Armor set is also available for purchase as a standalone DLC. Ena and Kyle Layered Armors, Red Layered Armor, and Tsukino Layered Armors are also avilable by using MHS 2 amiibos at the Prayer Pot. Here’s what you receive with each amiibo:

    • Ena & Kyle Layered Armor, from using Ena Amiibo.
    • Red Layered Armor, from using Razewing Ratha Amiibo.
    • Tsukino Layered Armor, from using Tsukino Amiibo.
