Minecraft has a plethora of weapons, tools, and items that you can add up to your gear. But as you use these gear or tools, their durability and stats also decrease. To avoid that, you need to repair these tools. Several players are confused about repairing these tools or gear. But how to do so? Check out our guide on how to repair Tools in Minecraft.
How to Repair Your Tools in Minecraft
In total, there are three ways to repair your tools and gear in Minecraft. So, here are all the methods to repair your tools:
- Anvil
- Crafting Table or Grindstone
- Mending Enchantment
Let’s have a look at all these three methods in more detail:
Crafting Table or Grindstone
This method involves repairing the items by placing two damaged items altogether. All you need to do is place the tool you want to repair on the Crafting table. Then, place the same type of tool in the crafting grid. As you do so, its durability or stats also increase. But there is only one drawback of repairing your tools with a Crafting table or Grindstone. It would remove all the enchantments. But make a note that if you use a Grindstone, it won’t remove any Curses placed on the tool.
Anvil
If you want to keep your enchantments, you can use an Anvil to repair your tools and gear. But this method would require four iron ingots and three iron blocks. All you need to do is place the same type of tool and the damaged tool in an Anvil. Unlike the previous method, you won’t lose any enchantments. The damaged tool can also gain new enchantments from other tools using an Anvil. Alternatively, your repaired tool can also gain higher enchantment value if both of them have the same enchantments. But as you use the Anvil to repair the same items, its Enchantment Cost will also increase the next time.
Mending Enchantment to Repair Tools
Lastly, you can also use the Mending Enchantment to repair your tools in Minecraft. As you apply the Mending Enchantment on the damaged tool, your other stats and durability also increase. But to do so, you need to find the Mending Enchantment, first. As it is a type of Treasure enchantment, you can find them from Stronghold chest loots, Jungle Temples, raids, and fishing. Alternatively, you can also trade them with a librarian of any level.
