The Valhalla DLC of God of War Ragnarok is out and it offers players 5 difficulty options. Setting the right one for you is important as it not only dictates how your experience will be. But also determines the rewards dropped by enemies. The higher the difficulty the more drops you get.
If you haven’t already completed the game then it is ideal you finish the main story before starting it. While we won’t be discussing any spoilers, the DLC has them. So if you were planning to directly jump on it, this is something you should consider.
Best Difficulty to Play Valhalla DLC of God of War Ragnarok
Here are all the difficulty options in Valhalla DLC:
- Show Me Will (Very Easy)
- Show Me Resolve (Easy)
- Show Me Courage (Normal)
- Show Me Prowess (Hard)
- Show Me Mastery (Very Hard)
The best setting recommended for most players is Show Me Courage. This is because it is normal and sort of balanced. Here is why each difficulty might appeal to you:
Show Me Will
This can be considered the very easy mode of the DLC. It is recommended for players who just want to enjoy what the story has to offer. While you should be able to breeze through the game with this mode, remember that you won’t be getting any bonus reward drops.
Show Me Resolve
This mode is for players looking for a light challenge. The good thing about this mode is the enemies shouldn’t give you much trouble while also dropping 10% more rewards upon death!
Show Me Courage – Best GoW Ragnarok Valhalla Difficulty
This is the recommended mode for a good chunk of players. The enemies will be harder than the above modes, but if you play a bit carefully you should be safe. In all of these modes, Kratos won’t have the upgrades you collect in your main playthrough. So the increased 20% rewards should help you prepare for the harder modes ahead.
Show Me Prowess
Things will start to get heated here. There isn’t much room for mistakes. If you aren’t cautious enough even weaker enemies can kill you easily. However, the additional 30% reward drops should be something to keep you going.
Show Me Mastery
You should preferably only play this mode if are a veteran of this game or the series. You should expect frequent deaths and a lot of retries. The good thing is enemies drop 40% more loot. But remember compared to the above modes, the enemies here will be hardest to kill. You will also need to strategize and plan out your moves and how you will take them down in order to progress. One wrong move and they can seriously punish you.
That’s all for the best difficulty setting for GoW Ragnarok Valhalla. If you are unable to play it, then here is the Valhalla DLC not working fix that you should try. Also, if you haven’t completed the game then our God of War Ragnarok Wiki should help you out!
