Being a Souls game, sometimes as using Summons doesn’t suffice, you might require additional help from your skilled friends. Elden Ring Cross Platform and Crossplay Support
Unfortunately, there is no support for Cross-platform in Elden Ring as of now. We will have to wait until Hidenta Miyazaki or the devs at FromSoftware announce the availability to crossplay. But as the devs haven’t hinted or revealed any info regarding the Cross-platform support, it is unlikely that we will be able to crossplay soon.
If we track the previous Souls’ titles, there was no crossplay support for any of the Dark Souls entries and Bloodborne. So, in my opinion, cross-platform support seems like a long shot. It is more disappointing for the players that prefer duels, invasions, and PvE fights in multiplayer mode, rather than campaign mode. From the recent news, players have died more than nine billion times while defeating hard bosses in Elden Ring. But with some help from your friends, crossplay could have worked wonders during intense boss battles against Malenia, Maliketh, or others.
However, considering the recent surprise about the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree story DLC, no complaints if FromSoftware decides to surprise us with a crossplay patch. Considering the success of the Elden Ring, the devs might decide to release a patch for cross-platform support in the future, maybe.

What is Cross-Gen Play?
The Cross-gen play allows players to connect with the players of the same series whose generations may vary. For example, if you are playing on Xbox Series X, you can invite and connect with your friend playing on Xbox One. In the same way, PS4 players can play with PS5 players. But as there is no Cross-platform support, Xbox and PS5 players cannot play together.
While the functions of Cross-Gen play are a bit limited, at least we have some scope for crossplay. Unlike console players, PC players can find more players when using Cross-gen play due to its peaking sales.
