How to Counter Zenyatta in Overwatch 2 – Tips & Strategies

Zenyatta Counter in Overwatch 2

It is recommended to use fast-moving characters like Pharah or Genji while fighting against Zenyatta. This is because such characters can easily counter the incoming damage from Zenyatta’s primary weapon, Orb of Destruction.

Heroes like Hanzo and Widowmaker who can cause damage from a distance can decimate Zenyatta with minimum effort. Moreover, Zenyatta has low Health capacity so it won’t be that difficult to empty it up. Also, Zenyatta can receive significant damage if hit from behind. In such cases, you can use Reaper to teleport behind Zenyatta and surprise him with a powerful hit from his Hellfire Shotgun.

Flankers like Genji or Tracer who have fast mobility can easily outrun Zenyatta. This helps to attack him from every direction dealing more damage. Although, keep in mind that one headshot from Orb or Destruction to Genji or Tracer is enough to get them eliminated.

Also, Heroes like Pharah or Roadhog with knockback abilities are very useful to counter Zenyatta in Overwatch 2. Even if Zenyatta is using his ultimate, Transcendence, he can still be knocked back and pushed away from his allies. This will fail him to support his allies which is a great advantage for you. As we know, that Transcendence ability not only heals Zenyatta but also his allies nearby.
