There are a lot of important choices that players will make as they progress through their campaign in Baldur’s Gate 3. Some of these choices affect the game’s narrative to a great extent which makes choosing the right options crucial. One such decision that players will come across during Act 3 of BG3 is when Mizora offers Wyll to either sever his pact with her or save his father, Duke Ravengard, from a certain death.
Players will stumble upon Grand Duke Ravengard crowning Gortash as the next Archduke of Baldur’s Gate. However, Wyll is quick to point out that something is not right with his father. After which Mizora will invite you to meet her in the camp where she will reveal that the real Grand Duke Ravengard has been imprisoned somewhere, and only she knows about it. And since you don’t want the warlock to lose his power or even succumb to the Archdevil for no reason, here is everything you need to know about whether to break the pact or save his father.
Should you Save Wyll’s Father or Break his Pact in Baldur’s Gate 3?
According to us, players should break Wyll’s Pact in Baldur’s Gate 3 rather than letting him accept the contract with Mizora. The main reason behind it is, that Mizora does not reveal everything about Duke Ravengard, and her stating that he will die immediately is a lie. You will still be able to track him down even if you don’t choose the direct option. Although, you may find it much more difficult without the help of the cambion.
Other certain objective changes, there are no major consequences if choose to break the contract in BG3. Additionally, Wyll will be free of his pact and you will also have his warlock abilities for your party for the rest of your playthrough of the campaign.
However, if you don’t want the trouble of locating and tracking down Duke Ravengard amidst the third act, then we would suggest choosing to save him instead. Mizora will provide you with all the information needed about the location where Ulder Ravengard is held captive in the game. In exchange, she will bind Wyll’s soul to her forever. There are no direct consequences to the option and many of your companions might agree to it.
It will all come down to how conveniently you want to find and rescue Wyll’s father in Baldur’s Gate 3. We would suggest choosing the option to break the contract and free Wyll of his destiny. It makes sense if you are going for a do-gooder playthrough in the game. And since the Warlock won’t lose any of his abilities, you will find it to be the right choice.
