The Northern Expedition update introduces a new mechanic of temperatures where you need certain gear to stay warm and survive longer. You need an Oxygen tank to breathe well at higher altitudes along with a Winter Cloak which will keep you warm in Fisch. Here’s how to get this new clothing item, its exact GPS location and how much it costs.
How to Get the Winter Cloak in Fisch (GPS Location Coordinates)
The Winter Cloak (a dark blue jacket) can be purchased at the Glacial Grotto in the Northern Summit (X: 20168, Y: 780, Z: 5721) and it’s placed on a crate next to an orange tent. Start your journey by sailing to the Northern Expedition island, climbing the mountain, using the glider to cross gaps and reach higher altitudes. If you haven’t purchased one yet, you can buy it from Roslit Bay, near the campfire.
You may need multiple attempts and different strategies to get here successfully, so speak to the Innkeeper at your preferred point on the island to set the spawn point there so that you don’t have to make the journey all over again.
The goal is to first reach the location where you find the Beginner Oxygen tank, which should be fairly easy because the path will take you there. From here, take the set of Ladders opposite the Innkeeper and keep going until you see a narrow pathway. Turn left from here and you will come across a bridge. Cross it, go past the big green bush, and keep going up. The ladders will take you to Frigid Cavern and from here, you need to climb some more ladders. Finally, you will find a camp where you can get your temperature up, refill your oxygen, and buy the Winter Cloak.
Here’s the path you can take to reach the Winter coat:
It costs 7,500C$ which is a reasonable price if you’re planning to visit the Northern Expedition area regularly, because it is a requirement to deal with the freezing temperatures if you’d like to complete the island’s bestiary. With it equipped, you won’t have to manage your body heat and warm up at campfires as often as you would without it. If you ignore the freezing temperatures indicated by the ice collecting on your screen, your character will instantly die.
Once you spot the tents having an Advanced Oxygen tank, Advanced Glider, and with Hiker #10 standing nearby, you’re at the right place. The whole area is packed with items like the Heavens fishing rod, Summit Rod, Energy Crystals, and more that require you to spend a lot of money. So, here are the best locations to farm money and XP
