Windbound is all about survival and crafting. To survive you will but obviously need to traverse through different islands in the game. While your character in Windbound can swim a long way, there are water enemies that might not allow you to reach a different island. Another problem while traveling is that your character does not have to travel alone but take some equipment along. Hence, it is important to know how to build a boat in Windbound. If you don’t know how to do this, follow this boat building guide and learn how to build a boat in Windbound.
Windbound: How to Build a Boat
Before heading to building a boat, you will need the Oar of the Ancestors. Climb the stairs and you will get the Oar which will enable you to build a boat. Once you have the Oar, head to the crafting menu and then click the “Boat” menu. This will show you different types of boats that you can build and the relevant materials that you will need to build them.
There are in total three major types of boats that you can craft, grass, bamboo, and wood. The grass is the most basic and the only option available during the start. It is easy to build but cannot help you travel long. The bamboo boat is more relevant providing a great balance between pace and safety. A wooden boat is very secure to travel in but at the same time is a bit slower than other types due to its heavyweight.
Once you unlock either woods or bamboo, you can craft stronger boats using them. They also enable you to create decks and attach Hulls to them. Here are all the boats that you can build in Windbound and their required materials.
