In Escape Tsunami for Brainrots, waves are the main obstacle standing between players, high-level brainrots, and survival. Each wave behaves differently, moving at its own speed and sometimes bringing special effects that can completely change how the game plays out. Knowing the difference between wave types helps you decide when to move forward, when to hide, and when to play it safe.
Here’s a look at all wave types in the game, including Normal Waves, Paid Waves, and Event Waves.
Normal Waves in Escape Tsunami for Brainrots
Normal Waves are part of the default gameplay cycle and they appear regularly.
Super Slow Wave

This is the easiest wave type in the game. It moves at a very slow pace and is mainly meant to help new players understand wave timing and positioning. Most players can easily outrun it without upgrades, making it a good opportunity to collect nearby brainrots.
This is also the perfect wave to come back to the base, because you can bring all your collected Brainrots without worrying about a wave crashing into your character’s back.
Slow Wave
Slightly faster than the Super Slow Wave, this wave introduces a bit more pressure. While it is still manageable, players need to be more aware of their surroundings and might need to use the gaps or VIP areas for safety.
Medium Wave
The Medium Wave is where things start to feel serious. It moves at a balanced speed and appears often in normal gameplay. Players usually need decent movement speed or good knowledge of timing to avoid getting hit by it.
Fast Wave
Fast Waves significantly reduce reaction time. If you are caught too far from cover, escaping becomes difficult. These waves will make you retreat early instead of taking risks.
Lightning Wave
This is one of the fastest normal waves in the game and it can easily catch unprepared players. Safe positioning becomes essential when this wave is active.
Paid Waves
Paid Waves are optional and must be unlocked using in-game purchases.
Beast Wave
The Beast Wave is extremely fast and unforgiving. It offers little room for mistakes and is often used for challenge runs or fast-paced gameplay. It costs 19 Robux and players are recommended to activate this wave if they’re looking for additional difficulty or are confident in their speed/movement.
Event Waves
Event Waves appear only during limited-time events and they often come with visual effects or special mechanics. Here’s what you need to know about them:
Radioactive Wave
This wave appears during radioactive-themed events. It creates a green-tinted atmosphere and can affect the brainrots you collect, sometimes turning them into radioactive variants. It adds both risk and reward to the round.
Wacky Waves

Wacky Waves are chaotic by design. Instead of one strong wave, players face multiple waves with gaps, but note that they spawn in quick succession. Be careful because it can quickly overwhelm you if you are not paying attention.
UFO Wave
The UFO Wave shows up during alien-themed events. It is slower than some late-game waves but can still catch players off guard. Brainrots collected during this wave may get special UFO-related variations.
Death Wave
The Death Wave is one of the most dangerous waves in the game. It is usually spawned at the end of Wacky Waves (as of now) or by admins. This wave can eliminate players even in spots that are safe, making survival nearly impossible.
Tips for Dealing With Different Waves
- Learn to recognize wave speed as soon as it spawns.
- Avoid going too far from cover during fast or lightning waves. Get back to your base when a Super Slow wave is behind you, but keep checking, because a Lighting fast wave might be right behind it. That can catch up to you and you might drop all your high-value brainrots near the base.
- Save risky exploration for slower waves.
- Boost your income by waiting until special waves appear because this is how you can get unique brainrot variations.
