God of War Ragnarok is finally here with tons of new content and gameplay mechanics. That being said, Runic attacks have made their return in GoW Ragnarok. You can use these attacks to overpower compelling characters like Thor, Odin, and more. But with the new gameplay elements, several players are confused about using them for Kratos. How to Use the Runic Attacks in God of War Ragnarok

Unlike the previous installments, there are two types of Runic attacks in GoW Ragnarok. These are the Light Runic Attacks and the Heavy Runic Attacks. Before you use them, make sure to unlock the different types of Runic attacks and unlock them. Both of these attacks have slightly different controls. So, here’s how to use both the Runic Attacks:

How to Use Light & Heavy Runic Attacks

  • To use the Light Runic attack, hold the L1 button on your controller and then, hit the R1 button.
  • Hold the L1 button and hit the R2 button to execute the Heavy Runic Attacks.

You can upgrade these attacks to a maximum level of 3. Different types of Runic attacks offer various buffs to Kratos. These buffs include increased damage and several bonuses. We recommend unlocking and using them according to your playstyle.

These Runic attacks can be equipped with all the weapons of Kratos. This includes the Leviathan Axe, Chaos of Blades, and the Draupnir Spear. There are different types of Light and Heavy Runic Attacks in God of War Ragnarok. And you can unlock them as you progress. But each of these types of attacks has different ways to unlock them.
