If you have gone through our Best Vocations Tier List, then you may already know that Warriors are best for melee combat in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Players who have chosen this Vocation will have access to two-handed weapons. One swing of a Warrior’s weapon can easily dish out multiple enemies, so by no means you should avoid this class. Unfortunately, this Vocation is locked and you will have to complete a quest called “Vocation Frustration” to unlock it.
In this quest, you are tasked with finding a greatsword, and in exchange, you will unlock the Warrior Vocation in DD2. Our guide here will explain where and how you can find the greatsword and unlock this advanced Vocation with ease.
Note: While completing the Vocation Frustration quest, you can also unlock the Sorcerer Vocation. However, you will have to find an archistaff, which can be found in the same location as the greatsword.
How to Unlock Dragon’s Dogma 2 Warrior Vocation
The first step in unlocking the Warrior Vocation is interacting with an NPC known as Klaus. He is found in the Vernworth Vocation Guild in Vernworth, one of the major in-game hubs. The Vocation Guild is located just below the Shakir’s Inn near the Merchant Quarter (refer to the above image). Once you find Klaus, speak to him to start the “Vocation Frustration” quest.
Once you start the quest, your main objective becomes finding the greatsword. Klaus will suggest you meet Roderick Smithy, an NPC who runs a local armory. You can meet him by simply following the quest marker (yellow icon on the map). Speaking to Roderick will reveal that the greatsword is found in Trevo Mines.
Trevo Mine is a cave located on the northwestern side of the Vernworth region. Be careful as you will be attacked by Goblins and Wolves on your way. Once you are inside the Trevo Mines, follow the thin path until you reach the area where the path branches left and right. From here, turn right and climb the rock to enter a hall with a treasure chest. Open that treasure chest and collect the greatsword known as Two-Hander from it.
If you search around a little, you can also find the archistaff known as Grievous Horns. Anyways, deliver the weapons to Klaus and you will instantly unlock the Sorcerer and Warrior Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Thereafter, you will have to pay 150 Discipline Points to change your Vocation to Warrior.
Pro Tip: Before heading over to the Trevo Mines, meet with an NPC called Captain Brant. Doing so will unlock the “Monster Culling” quest which tasks you with clearing out the Goblins in Trevo Mines. This will help you clear out two quests in one go.
