To unlock Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale side story, you must complete the main story and rescue Olimar. After that, head back to the Rescue Command Post and look out for Olimar. You can find him standing next to his spaceship (S.S. Dolphin). Interact with Olimar and ask him to tell his tale. Doing so will begin Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale in Pikmin 4.

How to Complete the Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale

To complete the Shipwreck Tale, you need to find and collect 30 Ship Parts. Also, keep in mind that you have only 15 days (in-game) to find all the Parts. The Ship Parts are scattered across Sun-Speckled Terrace, Blossoming Arcadia, Srene Shores, and Hero’s Hideaway area. To know the locations of all the 30 Ship Parts, you can check out the following video by MonkeyKingHero:

After completing Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale, you’ll unlock the Trial of the Sage Leaf. It is nothing but a series of Dandori Challenge missions that can be accessed from the Rescue Command Post. The rewards for completing the Trial of the Sage Leaf challenge include a White Onion and a Purple Onion. They can be used to produce Pikmins of the respective colors.
