One of the Fated list tasks that you must complete is to unlock all tools in Hades 2. It gives you 40x Ash as a reward. But even aside from that, these tools are very much required irrespective of whether you choose to explore the Underworld or the Surface. There are a total of 4 that you can get, out of which 3 are available early, and the 4th one takes some time. So below are all the resources that you will need to get them all.
How to Unlock All Gathering Tools in Hades 2 (Crafting Recipes)
The 4 Gathering tools that you can craft in this game are:
- Crescent Pick: Ash x1
- Tablet of Peace: 5x Silver and 5x Psyche
- Silver Spade: 10x Silver
- Rod of Fishing: 1x Bronze and 2x Fate Fabric
Now, that you have a quick overview, here is how you can speed up the process of unlocking them all:
- It goes without saying but you will have to start with Crescent Pick. You can unlock it as soon as you have it available. Having 1x Ash shouldn’t be a problem, as it is one of the basic resources that you can easily find the door of in Erebus.
- For your next run, make sure you equip Crescent Pick and take it with you. Now, whenever you spot Silver nodes, use your Pick on them thrice to get 3x Silver in total. Another way to collect Silver is by finding Narcissus in Oceanus and taking the silver & coins reward from him. With enough Silver you can easily unlock the Tablet and Spade.
- Finally, for the Rod of Fishing, this sadly isn’t available until you can reach the surface. Basically, you need the Permeation of Witching-Wards incantation. After it is unlocked the ward to the surface gets removed. Make sure you carry the Crescent Pick on you before you head above. Do remember that, you need another incantation to freely explore the Surface, so make sure you focus on getting Bronze after reaching the top. As for Fate Fabric, you can either purchase it for 60x Bones or get it from Arachne if she offers you an Onyx dress.
How to Use All Tools in Hades 2
Here is what you can use them for:
- Crescent Pick: You can use it to farm Silver, Bronze, Limestone, Glass Rock, and other Minerals.
- Tablet of Peace: This tablet lets you play a minigame with the Shades. Winning them grants you Psyche.
- Silver Spade: You need it to dig out seeds from various mud spots that show up throughout your encounters no matter the region.
- Rod of Fishing: Look for pools in your encounters they should have bubbles occasionally popping in them. Walk up to it and you will get the option to fish.

How to Upgrade All Gathering Tools
You need the following resources to upgrade these tools and here is the benefit of upgrading them:
- Crescent Pick: You can mine +1 mineral from each node.
- Glassrock x6
- Iron x4
- Tablet of Peace: You get +20% Psyche from Shades.
