One of the best NPCs in the early game that you should find is Arachne in Hades 2. As per the mythology, Arachne was an expert weaver and a dyer from Lydia. Her hubris for her art lead her to challenge Athena, who isn’t just the Goddess of Wisdom or War but also of Handcraft. Several stories say the Goddess could not find any flaws in Arachne’s Tapestry and beat her with her shuttle, and in the events that followed after, she got turned into a Spider. But let us not focus on the Myths anymore, here is where you can find this helpful spider in this game.
How to Find Arachne in Hades 2
You can find Arachne as a random reward encounter while you are in Erebus. The reward icon you are looking for has two hands with a chat bubble icon on top. Check the above image for reference. If you find this reward in Oceanus it leads you to the chambers of Narcissus or Echo instead of Arachne.
When you enter her chamber you can find several pods of cacoons in her room. You can destroy them to find gold but sometimes they do also have enemies concealed. So depending on your health, the risk may not be worth it. You can find her as a small spider at the center of the room.
Talk to her and she offers you three silk dresses to choose from, each of them typically offers some level of armor and an additional perk.
Arachne Rewards in Hades 2 – Silken Fineries List
Her rewards or dresses are known as Silken Fineries. You can get any 3 from the following:
- Scarlet Dress: It gives you 10 Armor and lets your Cast deal +100% damage.
- Moonlight Dress: It gives you 20 Armor and +5 Gold each time you leave a location.
- Lavender Dress: It gives you 30 Armor and lets you channel 40% faster.
- Azure Dress: It gives you 40 Armor and restores +5 Magick every second.
- Emerald Dress: It gives you 50 Armor and +2 HP restore each time you leave a location.
- Onyx Dress: It gives you 60 Armor and gives you 1x Fate Fabric.
Be sure to give her a Nectar as she gifts you Silken Sash Keepsake in return. This is very useful as it grants you +20 Armor at the start of a new run. And also lets you gain +2 Armor (this increases with your Keepsake level) each time you leave a location. However, you need to have at least 1 armor left on you for that to work.
