One of the flowers that you can’t pick but actually have to get is Poppy in Hades 2. When it comes to Lotus, Moly, or even Myrtle, all you have to do is spot one and go pick it up. But when it comes to Poppy, you need to find its seeds and have to grow it in your garden. You need it for a few incantations and to unlock a weapon aspect. So below are all the prerequisites for finding its seeds, growing it, and what it can be used for.
How to Get Poppy in Hades 2
You need to grow Poppy seeds which you can find at Tartarus in Hades 2. Tartarus is the 4th region of the Underworld that you can access after you beat Cerberus. Make sure you carry the Silver Spade to be able to use on the digging spots that contain these seeds. I suggest you check our detailed guide on how to get seeds for everything on it. But here is a quick overview of what you will need:
- Incantations
- Flourishing Soil: This allows you to grow plants in the Crossroads.
- Tools
- Silver Spade: You can craft it by going to the Tools tab of Nocturnal Arms and using 10x Silver. It lets you dig out seeds from the digging spots.
After you have the above necessities ready, this is what you do:
- Go to the Underworld and make your way to Tartarus.
- Now clear encounters and go to the different rooms until you find one that has a digging spot. It is random, but per run you should at least find 1 digging spot.
- Check your health and the enemies nearby, you can either clear them first, or if you are about to die then prioritize grabbing the Poppy seeds. Go to the digging spot and press R1 or RB to dig the seeds out.
- After your run ends you should be back at the Crossroads.
- Go to your garden, you can find it near Odysseus.
- Walk up to the soil spot then interact with it by pressing R1 or RB.
- Here, choose Poppy seeds to plant them.
- Poppy seeds take 21 encounters to grow into Poppy.
- Once they have grown, harvest them and they will be ready to use.

- Summoning of Personal Insights: It summons a Record Keeper at Taverna to show you the stats of your most used weapons, boons, & more.

- Insight Into Offerings: Unlock a list of all boons by every Olympian deity in the Book of Shadows. This incantation is a must-have if you want to get Duo Boons.

- Golden Apple x1
