The recent release of the Splatoon 3 features a plethora of new content. One of these includes the Tricolor Battles which are the newest addition to the Splatoon franchise. You can play this mode only during the Splatfest Events. But unfortunately, many players in the community are unable to play this game mode. As players select this mode, they are thrown into the usual Table Turf matches despite not choosing them. But what’s the main reason for this issue? Check out our guide to know everything about the Tricolor Battles not working in Splatoon 3.
Why Are the Tricolor Battles Not Working in Splatoon 3
The main reason that the Tricolor Battles are not working is due to the recent 1.1.1 Patch update of Splatoon 3. According to the recent patch update, the rate of the Tricolor Battles has been adjusted. Due to these changes, from the defending player’s perspective, these matches will somewhat trigger less. Here’s the tweet by the official Splatoon 3 account (link):
As of now, you will be thrown into the Table Turf matches more frequently than playing the Tricolor Battle matches. The patch notes also mention that this frequency and adjustments are temporary. And these matchmaking issues will be rectified. As stated in the patch, they are planning to rectify these changes/adjustments with the upcoming season in December.
In my opinion, it could have been better if the Tricolor Battles were not an option rather than the decreased rate. Hopefully, the new season might resolve these issues as promised.
