The Last of Us Part III Possibly Teased By Series’ Composer

The Last of Us composer Gustavo Santaolalla celebrated on social media the nomination of The Last of Us Part II for the best soundtrack at The Game Awards 2020, and launched what many believe to be a first teaser for The Last of Us Part III.

The two games launched so far are “just the beginning,” as suggested in the celebratory tweet of the South American musician. It is not clear what he refers to when speaking only of a “beginning” of the journey of The Last of Us, and many have linked this mention to a third installment of the Ellie saga.

Geoff Keighley also retweeted the congratulatory tweet of Santaolalla, which also suggests that he is also aware of something. Keighley, host and producer of The Game Awards, may be throwing the hook for a teaser for the event that will take place between 10 and 11 December.

The Last of Us 2 has a multiplayer spin-off in the pipeline for some time and we may soon see it in action, but there is also recent news that a next-gen upgrade may be in the works.

As for The Last of Us Part III, we have no certainty about it, except that Neil Druckmann, creator of the franchise, has opened in unsuspecting times to the possibility of the game being done. There are of course some chances that Santaolalla himself is actually referring to the HBO series, which he will take part in as a composer.
