How to Gain & Build Karlach’s Approval in Baldur’s Gate 3
Once you find and recruit Karlarch in BG3 during the Hunt for the Devil quest, you can start gaining her approval. As you progress, there are mainly three ways you can raise her approval.
They are as follows:
- Defeating the Goblins at the Camp
- Rescuing the Tiefling refugees at the Goblin Camp
- Choosing Heroic dialogue options and decisions.
In addition to these options, you must consider her likes and dislikes to understand Karlach better. So, here are all the ways you gain her approval and disapproval:
- Likes (Approval Gains): Honesty, Compassion, Defending her when someone is targeting her, cooling Karlach down, Not being gullible, Courageous decisions, Violence, and Bold moves.
- Dislikes (Disapproval Gains): Wicked and Cruel deeds, mistreating animals, Lying, selfishness, Cowardly decisions, backing down from a fight.
How to Romance Karlach in BG3
For romancing Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must find and use the Infernal Iron to repair her Infernal heart engine. Once you find the required Infernal iron, you must head to the Emerald Grove and talk to Dammon. But note that raiding the Emerald Grove might lose the option to talk to Dammon. After repairing her heart, she will be unsure if it worked out or not. At this point, you will have a chance to kiss Karlach if you pick the right dialogue.
Soon as the Dammon NPC says “There’s only one way to find out”, you will get four options. They are as follows:
- Lay a hand on her
- Pull her into a hug
- Kiss her
- Stand stock still
You can either choose to pull her into a hug or kiss Karlach for gaining her approval. If you have been kind to Karlach and gained enough approvals till now, she will imply visiting you later once everyone is asleep. You must choose the following dialogue option:
- Of course. Nothing would make me happier.
As you meet her after a rest, choose the following dialogues for romancing Karlach in BG3 in order:
- How are you feeling?
- Believe me, I can handle myself. And you.
- What do you have in mind?
- I’m yours, Karlach!
Once you select the last dialogue option, she will kiss you and ask if she can take you to bed. If you want to pursue a romantic relationship with Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3, choose the following dialogues:
- About our relationship…
- Can I kiss you?
- I thought you’d never ask.
