To record gameplay on PC, you do not need third-party tools like Shadowplay or OBS on the Windows 10/11 operating system, as it includes an inbuilt tool called Xbox Game Bar, intended for gamers, which allows you to take a video capture of what is displayed on the screen. The application mostly only allows video games to be recorded, but it is entirely possible to divert its use to make it record other content with a few exceptions.

1. How to Enable Game Bar
- Click the Start menu and then click on Settings.
- Click on Gaming.
- In the new window click on Xbox Game Bar and on the right side click the toggle button to turn it on.

2. Configure Game Bar settings
- Open the same Xbox Game Bar settings by following the steps above.
- Below Xbox Game Bar, click on Captures on the left side.
- Here you will find out all recorded gameplay videos will be saved by default in this directory: C:\Users\User Name\Videos\Captures
- After that navigate to the Game Bar settings and customize your preferences.
- Just select what settings you want to use to record audio data, set the video frame rate of the gameplay capture, configure settings for high capture quality, or even record the mouse cursor in recordings.
3. Start a recording
- Launch the app or the game that you want to record gameplay on PC for and then turn on the Xbox Game Bar using the Windows + G keyboard shortcut.
- On the screen, you will see the Game Bar displayed with several options like capture, audio, performance, etc.
- Just select all the necessary technical settings of your video capture from these menus.
- After that click the record button to start recording the gameplay, then click the game window you want to capture video from.
- You will see a small window appearing on the side which will allow you to stop video recording when you have finished recording.
- A video will be generated in MP4 format and it will be automatically saved in the directory mentioned above. You can access it by pressing the Windows + G keyboard shortcut and then clicking on the Show All Captures option.
