The Super Mario 3D All-Stars brings Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy, all in one package. But of all three, the only one allows having co-op multiplayer experience. Although it’s not a complete multiplayer experience that players would have wished for, it is still worth enjoying with friends. The steps to start playing 2 players in Super Mario Galaxy is a little trickier. Hence, to help you with that, we have made this guide on how to play 2 players in Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy: How To Play 2 Player
Once you have selected to play Super Mario Galaxy, simply press the minus button. This will open up an options menu, select the Co-Star Mode from here by pressing A. Next, you will need to connect controllers for both the players. Once the controllers are connected, start playing the game again and you will be playing 2 players in Super Mario Galaxy. To confirm the same, lookout for a small gold star on the bottom-right of the screen. If the star is present that means you are in the Co-Star Mode.
The Co-Star Mode allows one primary player to control Mario and the secondary player to control a cursor-like pointer on the screen. While the first player has all the control of Mario’s moments, the second player can collect bits and use them to hit enemies. All they need to do is run the cursor over the bits to collect them and then use them. Hitting enemies with bits will stun them for a small period.
While playing 2 players in Super Mario Galaxy, you can also make a long-jump that is not possible otherwise. All you need to do is ask the other player to place the pointer over Mario’s head. Once in place, you can hit the regular jump buttons to launch Mario to an irregular height.
