There are plenty of things you can plant in ACNH and that includes pumpkin starts, flower seeds, and saplings. But can you plant turnips in Animal Crossing New Horizons? What if you can purchase Turnips at a price, multiply them, and get an even bigger profit after selling them? Well, here’s all you need to know about it.
How to Plant Turnips in ACNH?
Unfortunately, you cannot plant turnips in Animal Crossing New Horizons because they are not growable in the game. Their purpose is different in ACNH – they are the stars of the Stalk Market so planting them will not provide any benefits to you. What you can do with them (if you have a large quantity) is make a Turnip Garden in a certain area. But it will affect your island score due to the number of Turnips on the ground. When you sell them off, though, the island score will jump back to what it was before. Note that this is just a way to keep them “stored” until you are ready to sell them. Making a Turnip Garden will not stop them from rotting and will not help you grow more Turnips as well.
How to Use Turnips in Animal Crossing New Horizons?
Here’s a gist about the usage of Turnips. Every Sunday (from 5am to 12pm), Daisy Mae will come to your island carrying lots of Turnips that she will sell to you at a certain price. You will have to buy them from her in bunches of 10. Your mission? To sell those Turnips at the Nook’s Cranny at a price higher than you bought it for to make a profit.
Players need to sell them off before the next Sunday because if you forget to do so, they will rot! So, make sure to ask the Nook brothers for their Turnip prices two times a day (before 12pm and after 12 pm) and if it’s a price that gives you a profit, sell them off. It’s a gamble because the price could be even higher the next day but then again, they could also go much lower.
So, in conclusion, can you plant Turnips in Animal Crossing New Horizons? No, you cannot. But while you have them and are waiting for the right time to sell them, you can make a little Turnip Garden to hold them.
