The gameplay has changed to hack and slash infused with the turn-based mechanism that all Persona fans are familiar with. Is Persona 5 Strikers a Sequel?
Persona 5 Strikers Is It A Sequel

Persona 5 Strikers is a sequel to the original Persona 5, but it not a sequel to Persona 5 Royal. Let me explain why. You see Persona 5 Royal was released in March 2020 for the worldwide audience. That’s almost a month after the initial release date of Persona 5 strikers in February 2020. So Persona 5 Strikers takes place after the events of the original Persona 5. Also, the events of Persona 5 Royal are considered not canon anymore. So the characters like Akechi and Kasumi Yoshizawa from Royal are not available in Persona 5 Strikers.

This might be a surprise for a lot of fans. Considering how Persona 5 Royal was an enhanced version of the original game. It included Kasumi and Akechi, a playable third semester, additional plot and social elements are not canons now. So taking all this into account and as I mentioned above, Persona 5 Strikers is a continuation of the original Persona 5, but it not a sequel to Persona 5 Royal edition.

So, that’s what you need to know about Persona 5 Strikers being a sequel or not. But don’t worry, there are loads of other new elements in this game and we’ve got Persona 5 Strikers guides on various elements from the game you may want to know. Check them out below:
